Drop in to a free Repair Café at the Library! Volunteers will help repair broken items to give them a longer life cycle. There is no charge for repairs at the Repair Café.

If volunteers are unable to repair your item, or parts are required, they'll help you find a local repair shop that can help. (If you have replacement parts, you can bring them with your broken item.)

Items for repair must be at the Library by 3:30pm.

Indoor repairs you can bring:

  • Sewing & Mending
  • Computers & Laptops
  • Jewelry & Accessories
  • Small Home & Kitchen Appliances

Outdoor repairs you can bring:

  • Garden Tools
  • Bikes
  • Small Engine Repair

Celebrate Earth Day with the Ames Repair Café!

Check out the Library’s new seed collection moved to the Auditorium Lobby today! Browse the selection available, take home some seeds, or bring any seeds from home to donate. Free native tree saplings from the City of Ames will be available while supplies last.

You can also visit the Screen Printing Station or attend one of the workshops during the day. See the other online calendar events for more info.
