Get your library card online and start using it now!

 

Community members may register online and immediately get access to a variety of online resources.

All Iowa residents may sign up for an Ames Public Library card. To apply for your card, you will need:

  • Photo identification
  • Proof of current Iowa address
  • Completed registration form or registration online

Individual Account
A single, confidential account for ages 5 and up.

Shared Account
An account shared among multiple people.
Anyone listed on the shared account may see what items are checked out on the account or pick up items being held, regardless of who requested them.
Any member on a shared account may also have an individual account.

Student Account
Ames Community School District students in K-12 are issued an Ames Public Library Student Account electronically.
Student accounts are limited to checkout of 3 physical items at a time.
Students may also have an individual account and/or be a member on a shared account.
