Mourners gather at the Cory family cemetery following the funeral of the famous evangelist Billy Sunday's mother, Mary Cory Stowell, on June 28, 1916. Mary Jane Cory Stowell lived from July 25, 1840 to June 25, 1916; Her first husband died during the Civil War while she was carrying Billy. In this photograph, Billy Sunday is next to the fence peering down at the grave. Ed Sunday, Billy's brother, is at his right and other family members and friends are gathered nearby.
