COVID-19 Updates

Visitors to Ames Public Library and the Bookmobile are encouraged to wear face masks. Disposable masks are available for free in the Library's lobby.

Story County and Iowa currently have a high level of community transmission of COVID-19. In such areas, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends all people older than 2, whether vaccinated or not, wear a face mask indoors in public to reduce transmission of the COVID-19 Delta variant.

Ames Public Library is an important resource for the entire community, including people with weakened immune systems, people at higher risk from COVID-19, and our youngest visitors who are not yet eligible for vaccination against COVID-19. Thank you for helping make the Library a space where our community members can feel safe.

Library users in need of special accommodations may call (515) 239-5646 ext. 2 for assistance.

The Library staff and Board of Trustees will continue to monitor the situation and collaborate with City officials and health experts to adapt Library services as needed.
