“What I mean by that is we—all of us—have to fight against performance and lean into participation. We have to be participants. Active.”
― Jason Reynolds, Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You: A Remix of the National Book Award-winning Stamped from the Beginning

Join Dr. Monic Behnken, Pastor Eileen Gebbie, and Teen Librarian Tanvi Rastogi for a 4-session virtual book club to discuss the book Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Dr. Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds. Teens ages 14 to 18 will have the opportunity to talk about race, racism, and antiracism while learning how to "lean into participation."

Date and time:
Wednesdays at 7pm beginning July 29 and ending August 19.

Registration is required; a Zoom link for the book club will be emailed 24 hours before each session. Participants will receive a free copy of the book to keep and must be able to pick up their copy at Ames Public Library before Wednesday, July 22.

This program is supported by the Ames Public Library Friends Foundation and presented in partnership with Iowa State University Department of Sociology and United Church of Christ.
